Week One - Write a summary of the class reading book you looked at last term. What was it called? Who wrote it? What was the basic storyline? What stood out for you as its main themes? Would you recommend it to someone else?
Last term I read the book 'A wrinkle in time' by Madelin L'ingle (not sure how to spell it). The basic stroryline was that a girl called Meg, her father went to stop this giant pulsating brain. Meg had to get her father back as he is captured. She travels a tesseract which is the fifth dimension.
The main themes were bravery, courage and friendship. I would rate this book 7/10 as it was confusing because there were alot of characters. I would recommend this book to people who are interestered in adventure. I think that book was great but it was a bit complicated because of all the characters. I would reccomend it to people at the ages of 9-20.
personally I think Charles Wallace is a great character because he is so smart and intelligent. I think this book would be awesome for people who like adventure books. I am not so into adventure books so I did not like it as much. Hope you like my response from Russel Gordon.
You most disliked character in a book and why.
My most disliked book character is Captain Hook from the book Peter Pan. I dislike 'Hook' as he is cruel to Peter and his friends such as when he ties Peter and the lost boys up, when Hook tries to shoot Peter with a cannon and trying to get Peter to walk the plank. I think he is dumb as he is clumsy and not independent.
He is also funny because of his dumbness.
He is also cruel to his crew because either they do something wrong or annoy him. He is also a bit scary from his appearance.
I always felt a bit sorry for Hook... Poor misunderstood man. All he wants is world domination... :) Mrs G
What has been your most favourite Justin D'Ath extreme adventure book and why
My favourite extreme adventure book is Shark Bait. Shark Bait is my favourite because it had a nice introduction which made me want to keep on reading. It was very interesting and kept me on the edge of my seat. It was very descriptive and used the english language very well. It was quite emotional as Michi and Sam might have died from the freezing water, drowning or the marine life.
It was hilarious when Michi and Sam met Baldy and the guy with the hat and how the cassowary ran into them. It was also funny when the cassowary hurt the dog(deserves him right). I was also on the edge of my seat when they nearly got eaten by the sharks.
That sounds like the best extreme adventure book there is. I have read Anaconda Ambush and Maneater. I like those too but yours sounds more interesting and sounds like you really enjoyed it. I also think it sounds nice because of the emotional bit, when its emotional in the story, i enjoy it better. I like sharks too and i like funny books cause it keeps me entertained and if its not funny, emotional, interesting and easy to read i get board reading it.
I will deffintely borrow shark bait next time. Oh, well done for reading 22 books, i think it was.
